Today’s youngsters are tomorrow’s voters

Every year the Neshobe Club in Brandon, Vt., holds a drawing for Lifetime Hunting Licenses for young hunters. This year the club had 100 youngsters in the raffle for approximately 15 Vermont Lifetime Hunting Licenses. The youngster had to be registered in the raffle and present at the Neshobe Club drawing to win the license. 

While there are many gun clubs across the country doing similar things, I will use Neshobe as an example because it is one I know of due to its proximity, and it illustrates what any organization can do to help the next generation, with a little elbow grease. 

Gov. James Douglas was present and spoke to the audience about the importance of hunting and the strong tradition of hunting. His wife, Dorthy, pulled the number for first winning youngster of the raffle.
