Adirondack Foothills Report:

Whitetail Classic Winners
Archery buck takes top prize

By Dan Ladd

Organizer Tony McCutcheon has announced the winners of this year’s New York Whitetail Classic Big Buck Contest and there were some real dandies!  The Grand Prize winner this year was a Cayuga County archery buck that scored 155-6/8” (Gross B&C) taken by Tony Van Ditto of Auburn. This massive buck had 25-inch main beams and four tines that extended out to 8-inches. It would be any hunter’s buck of a lifetime.

The same can be said for many of this year’s Classic bucks.   The winners in the rifle division were Harry Holck of Scotia who shot an Adirondack 13-pointer in Hamilton County that grossed 146-08-inches and featured a palmated rack and took first place. Gansevoort resident Chuck Hodgson also shot an Adirondack buck in Warren County.  The 10-pointer grossed 138-0/8-inches and was good for second place.  Third place went to Horn Hunter Pat Cronin for his 10-pointer, also taken in Hamilton County that grossed 128-2/8-inches.
